What has been said between Parker and Wardley?

A particularly cordial relationship has bloomed across the past few months between the two fighters, built on a respect and appreciation for their craft in the ring.

Parker paid tribute to Wardley’s decision to take a bout that marks a gamble for both men, speaking to him as part of DAZN’s Face-Off ahead of their incoming fight.

“There’s a lot of fighters who say that they’ll want to fight anyone,” he stated. “But they just say it. He’s shown in his career that he steps up, and he finds a way to win.”

Wardley repaid the compliments, suggesting that the Kiwi is operating at the top of his game, and reflecting on his ability to improve the more he takes out his foes.

“I think he’s in his prime,” he added. “Early on in his career, he was a great fighter, but he was still finding his feet. Now, his ambition shows he must love the sport again.”

Parker vs. Wardley prediction

DAZN senior boxing reporter Chris Walker

Fabio Wardley’s power has rescued him during his career, but that is a good thing when you are campaigning at heavyweight.

Despite showing some vulnerabilities in his last outing against Justis Huni, Wardley found the shot to end the fight immediately and he may need to do the same against Joseph Parker next month.

The popular New Zealander has worked his way up the rankings impressively in recent years and he can take a step closer to Oleksandr Usyk by moving past Wardley.

Parker, an experienced fighter, will be well aware of the threat posed by Wardley, and he can overcome a few tough moments, perhaps even climbing off the floor, to win well on the scorecards.

Parker vs. Wardley form and history

Two inform fighters, full of confidence and with great momentum. It is two unstoppable trains heading at each other on the same track.

Parker has responded remarkably after what looked to be a career ending loss to Joe Joyce by knockout in 2022. Not many expected the Kiwi to ever be back at the top table of the heavyweight division.

But a renewed focus, energy and commitment to the sport, aided by his new coach in Andy Lee, has seen Parker literally fight his way back to the top.

Five straight impressive wins, including over Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder, put Parker back in a world title bout against Daniel Dubois in February 2025 for the IBF crown. However illness meant the champion could not compete, leaving Parker to instead stop late replacement Martin Bakole in the second round.

Parker has not fought since and ring rust could be one concern for his camp coming into this one.

For Wardley, his star has risen at a rapid rate thanks to his fairytale back story and explosive knockout style.

After battling out a draw in one of the all time great fights with Frazer Clarke in 2024, Wardley put the world on notice with a quite shocking knockout of the same opponent in their rematch in October 2024, that dissolved Clarke’s cheekbone.

That earned Wardley his first headline fight, and a stadium bout at that, at his hometown club Ipswich Town. The 30-year-old looked set for defeat to the Australian Justis Huni in front of his home fans, as his rival used his experience and technique to out think and outmanoeuvre his foe, often getting through Wardley’s guard.

However one switch off from Huni in the tenth round allowed Wardley to do what he does best, delivering another explosive put down at of nowhere .

From white collar fighting to a professional record of 19-1 with 18 knockouts, Wardley now finds himself potentially one victory away from his first world title shot.

Lamborghini Lanzador: America’s First Look at a Megawatt Electric GT Driving the Future

As an industry veteran who’s seen a decade of automotive evolution, I can tell you that few announcements resonate with the seismic force of a new Lamborghini. But when that Lamborghini is an all-electric grand tourer, and it’s dubbed the Lanzador, the tremors shake the very foundations of what we thought was possible for performance, luxury, and sustainability. The year is 2025, and while we’re still a few years out from its expected 2029 production debut, the Lanzador isn’t just a concept; it’s a meticulously engineered declaration of intent, a powerful testament to Lamborghini’s unwavering commitment to electrifying its iconic brand without compromising an ounce of its soul-stirring performance. Forget everything you thought you knew about electric vehicles; the Lanzador is here to rewrite the playbook for high-performance luxury EVs.

Echoes of Legacy, Roaring into Tomorrow: Lanzador’s Design Philosophy

From the moment its digital unveiling hit the screens, the Lanzador immediately struck a chord with enthusiasts and critics alike. Its sculpted silhouette, officially designated an “ultra GT EV,” masterfully weaves threads from Lamborghini’s rich tapestry while boldly forging a new path. For me, it instantly brought back memories of the stunning Asterion concept from 2015 – a hybrid grand touring coupe that, while never reaching production, hinted at a future where electrification and Lamborghini elegance could coexist. The Lanzador shares that vision, even donning a similar, deep Azzurro Abissale blue, a color that seems to symbolize a bridging of eras.

Yet, this isn’t just a nostalgic callback. The Lanzador’s design language is undeniably modern, aggressive, and purposeful, drawing clear inspiration from the success of the Urus SUV. Broader, more assertive intakes flank slimmer, almost predatory headlights up front, creating a menacing gaze that speaks to its potent electric heart. The cab-forward profile, pushing the windshield dramatically above the front axle, is a deliberate design choice, necessitated by the unique packaging requirements of its substantial battery pack. This gives the Lanzador a slightly elevated stance, a hybrid aesthetic that’s part sophisticated GT, part potent crossover, yet definitively not an SUV. Lamborghini designers have ingeniously managed to keep the roofline just under 5 feet tall, preserving its sleek, performance-oriented proportions while accommodating a higher cabin floor.

Around the back, the pointed lighting elements of the Asterion have evolved into six distinctive red ovals, a unique rear light signature that differentiates it from the angled lines of the Revuelto. This attention to detail, the careful evolution of iconic cues, demonstrates Lamborghini’s deep understanding of its own heritage while simultaneously propelling its aesthetic into the electric age. Every line, every crease, every vent serves a dual purpose: to captivate the eye and to optimize the vehicle’s dynamic performance, whether by enhancing downforce or channeling airflow for cooling. It’s a design masterclass that eloquently communicates its “ultra GT” ambition, setting a new benchmark for luxury electric GT vehicles and solidifying its place as a future Lamborghini model to watch closely.

The Name: A Pitch to the Future

Lamborghini has a long-standing, almost sacred tradition of naming its vehicles after legendary fighting bulls. The Lanzador, Spanish for “pitcher,” might initially conjure images of baseball, but its true namesake is a revered bull that earned “best bull” honors at the 1993 Madrid Fair. This continuity with the brand’s storied past is important, reinforcing its identity even as it ventures into new territory. However, Lamborghini also explicitly stated that the name is metaphorical, signifying how the brand intends to “launch itself into the future.” This duality perfectly encapsulates the Lanzador itself: a vehicle deeply rooted in Lamborghini’s performance heritage, yet boldly pioneering its electric future. It’s a fittingly dynamic and forward-looking name for what promises to be a groundbreaking electric grand tourer.

Unleashing the Megawatt Era: Powertrain and Performance

Now, let’s talk power. This is where the Lanzador truly flexes its muscles and establishes its credentials as an unparalleled high-performance EV. The electric drivetrain features a high-power e-motor on each axle, enabling an advanced all-wheel-drive system with sophisticated active torque management. Initial reports from 2025 conversations within the industry indicate a staggering one megawatt of energy deployment – that’s roughly 1,340 horsepower. But the whispers, the excited murmurs among engineers, suggest this might just be the starting point. Later interviews hinted at a potential 2,000 horsepower, pushing the boundaries of what a road-legal vehicle can achieve. If these figures hold, the Lanzador isn’t just powerful; it will be the most potent Lamborghini ever sold, regardless of whether it hits one megawatt or more. This isn’t merely about raw output; it’s about a finely tuned, instantly responsive, and utterly exhilarating driving experience that defines the electric supercar horsepower benchmark.

While precise specs like range and final torque figures are still under wraps, we know that by 2029, battery technology will have advanced significantly. We can anticipate robust battery packs offering competitive range and rapid charging capabilities, essential for a premium electric vehicle positioned as an everyday driver. What’s particularly exciting is the Lanzador’s foundation: an all-new Volkswagen Group shared performance platform. This architecture, set to underpin future high-performance EVs from Bentley and Porsche (and potentially Audi), signifies a massive investment in cutting-edge high-performance EV technology. This collaboration allows Lamborghini to leverage vast engineering resources and scale, ensuring the Lanzador benefits from best-in-class components and robust development, cementing its status as a leader in zero-emission supercars.

The “Everyday” Supercar: Redefining Grand Touring

Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s CEO, articulated the Lanzador’s mission perfectly: “For us, the fourth model is the absolutely logical extension of the existing portfolio—the perfect link between Urus and our super sports cars.” This statement underscores its strategic positioning. The Lanzador is designed to be the “everyday driver” Lambo, a vehicle that marries the breathtaking capabilities of a sports car with a newfound versatility, all without descending into “full SUV” territory like the Urus. This is a critical distinction in the luxury market of 2025, where discerning buyers seek both performance and practicality.

The 2+2 layout, a classic grand tourer configuration, means it can comfortably accommodate up to four passengers. But Lamborghini hasn’t stopped there. The rear seats are cleverly designed to be highly adaptable, specifically engineered to easily accommodate various “inorganic objects” – think golf clubs, skis, or luggage – making it a truly functional performance vehicle. Coupled with a “frunk” (front trunk) under the hood and a wide-opening, large glass tailgate at the rear, featuring adjustable rear seats for even greater cargo capacity, the Lanzador shatters the traditional compromises of high-performance vehicles. This vehicle is poised to capture a new segment of sustainable luxury vehicles, offering exhilarating drives during the week and practical utility for weekend escapes, truly embodying the spirit of a modern electric grand tourer.

A Sanctuary of Innovation: The Interior Experience

Step inside the Lanzador, and you’re immediately transported to a cockpit that feels both deeply rooted in Lamborghini’s history and decidedly futuristic. Inspired by past Lamborghinis and even spaceships, the cabin is meticulously crafted to make the driver feel like a pilot, in complete command of a sophisticated machine. The dashboard is notably thin, a design choice that not only looks elegant but also contributes to weight savings. It’s defined by a striking Y-shaped motif that sweeps across the center console, a signature Lamborghini element.

Within the driver’s immediate reach is the “pilot unit,” an intuitive interface for entertainment and climate controls. Critically, the screens can automatically retract in certain “spicy” drive modes, allowing for an uncluttered focus on the road – a thoughtful touch for pure driving enthusiasts.

However, it’s the commitment to sustainable luxury that truly stands out. The seats, door cards, and dashboard are sumptuously covered in Italian-sourced sustainable Merino wool, accented with recycled, color-contrasted threaded stitching. The seating foam itself is made from 3D-printed recycled fibers, pushing the boundaries of material innovation. For those who prefer a more traditional feel, Italian-sourced sustainable leather is also available. Structural carbon accents throughout the interior are developed with a two-layer regenerated carbon composite material, a testament to Lamborghini’s holistic approach to environmental responsibility. This isn’t just about reducing emissions at the tailpipe; it’s about a cradle-to-grave consideration of the vehicle’s environmental footprint, making it a compelling example of sustainable automotive interior design and a leader in automotive innovation 2029.

Mastering the Road: Unprecedented Control and Dynamics

The true measure of a Lamborghini lies in its driving dynamics, and the Lanzador promises to elevate this experience to unprecedented levels. While specifics on hardware and software are still emerging, Lamborghini has confirmed significant advancements in its Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) driving dynamics control system. Expect an expanded sensor suite, strategically mounted behind sleek glass panels at the front of the vehicle, offering even greater customization over the vehicle’s relationship with the road. This system promises to provide superior vehicle feedback, allowing the driver to precisely tailor the car’s responses, from steering weight to throttle sensitivity, to match their preferences and driving conditions. This level of granular control is a game-changer for advanced driver dynamics.

Complementing this sophisticated software is an array of smart aerodynamic hardware. The Lanzador will feature active aero elements capable of providing improved downforce in corners, ensuring exceptional grip and stability. At top speeds, these elements can reduce air resistance for maximum efficiency, while also optimizing conditions for maximizing range. A complex aero cooling system upfront, concealed behind a front air shutter and moveable splitter, ensures critical components remain at optimal temperatures during extreme performance. An active suspension system, adjustable directly from controls on the steering wheel, further enhances the Lanzador’s adaptability, allowing drivers to switch between comfortable touring and razor-sharp track performance with a flick of a button. This integrated approach to performance and efficiency, leveraging active aerodynamics EV technology, ensures the Lanzador will be as thrilling to drive as it is intelligent.

The Road to 2029: Manufacturing a Legacy

The production timeline for the Lanzador has seen minor adjustments, now slated for sometime around 2029, a slight shift from its initial 2028 promise. This extended development period underscores Lamborghini’s commitment to perfection, allowing for crucial refinements and the integration of even more advanced EV technology as it rapidly evolves over the next four years. Lamborghini’s confidence in the Lanzador’s market success is high, even suggesting it could sell as well as their new entry-level Temerario sports car. This isn’t just a niche product; it’s a mainstream pillar of their future portfolio.

To accommodate this ambitious undertaking, Lamborghini will expand its legendary Sant’Agata Bolognese facility over the next few years. This significant investment in manufacturing infrastructure highlights the seriousness of their commitment to electric vehicles and their readiness to scale production for this pivotal model. The Lanzador isn’t just a car; it’s a statement about the future direction of the brand, a testament to Lamborghini Sant’Agata Bolognese’s ongoing evolution and dedication to groundbreaking next-gen Lamborghini vehicles.

The Charge to the Future Awaits

Having observed the automotive landscape transform dramatically over the past decade, I can confidently say that the Lamborghini Lanzador represents a pivotal moment, not just for the Raging Bull, but for the entire luxury performance segment. It’s more than just an electric car; it’s a redefinition of what a grand tourer can be in the age of electrification – a vehicle that promises unbridled power, unprecedented control, sophisticated luxury, and a genuine commitment to sustainability. The Lanzador is the ultimate blend of heritage and innovation, a megawatt marvel poised to captivate the American market and beyond.

The future of Lamborghini electric cars is bright, and its name is Lanzador.
